Kathryn Morton

Vocal Health Specialist, Teacher and Coach

Kathryn Morton is a musician, educator, and speech pathologist whose work brings together artistic excellence and evidence-based voice science. She holds degrees in Music and a Master’s in Speech Pathology from the University of Queensland, with a specialist focus on voice and vocal health. Her dual training allows her to support singers not only as performers, but as athletes of the voice.

With more than a decade of choral leadership experience, Kathryn has established a reputation for cultivating confident, responsive ensembles. She serves as Director of St. Peter's Chorale at St. Peter's Lutheran College and has led them in performances across Australia and internationally, including in the United Kingdom and Europe. These international engagements have included appearances in major cathedral venues, reflecting her commitment to high-level choral artistry.

In her private vocal studio, Kathryn combines refined technical training with expressive musical development, preparing students for tertiary study and professional performance pathways. As a speech pathologist working with singers, she provides specialised support in vocal efficiency, resilience, and rehabilitation. Early in her clinical career, she was mentored in voice work by Dr Ron Morris, further shaping her passion for supporting professional and emerging artists in sustaining long, healthy careers.

At Vocal Arts Academy, Kathryn integrates musicianship, pedagogy, and clinical insight to foster confident, sustainable singing at every stage of development.

Workshop Note: Kathryn will be leading vocal health workshops and individual diagnostic vocal sessions throughout the April intensive.
